About us
How it all began
I always knew I wanted to be a Mom. After enjoying traveling the world, laying on the beach, skiing and more; my husband and I were ready to start a family. I will never forget the joy when that pregnancy test turned positive. Two days before before my first doctors appointment I started to cramp and bleed. I was having a miscarriage. I was hurt, shocked and confused. After continuing to try for the next year, it was time to see a specialist. After three rounds of IUI, two rounds of IVF, and three transfers; we had one viable embryo. That little egg became my first son Jack. I lovingly refer to him as my one good egg. When Jack was 7 months old we decided to try again. This round of IVF resulted in another miscarriage. I came to the realization that if I wanted to get pregnant again and have more children I needed even more help. My husband and I decided to move forward with egg donation. I don't know my donor's name, just that her sister struggled like us and she wanted to help others. Through egg donation we are lucky enough to have Alex and Grace. I know I don't have to tell this story, but there is no shame in talking openly about infertility.
When Alex was 4 months he started to chomp on everything he could grab. Unfortunately there weren't any teethers that could keep this attention or seemed to help his sore gums. This started my journey to find the best teething option for my son. I started making Alex teethers that had a combination of Food Grade Silicone beads and wooden beads. He loved his teether at first chomp. Happy Chompers started out by just wanting the best for my son and has grown into providing the best teething options for all the adorable little ones out there.
I hope by telling my family's story it will help anyone else going through a similar situation.
Love,
Christina
